What are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are a series of customizable treatments that involve the application of a special product by one of our expert practitioners. After thoroughly cleansing your face to ensure that any dirt and debris is effectively removed, your practitioner will apply a customized chemical solution to your skin. Most chemical peels are easily tolerated, and don’t involve any downtime lasting longer than two to three days. Some chemical peels enable patients to rejoin their normal routines as soon as their treatment is over, and we’ll help you understand the ins and outs of your specific treatment during your in-person consultation.

What do I do after my chemical peel?

We’ll make sure to provide you with a very clear set of aftercare instructions. Chemical peels are highly customizable, so your specific aftercare instructions will vary according to the specifics of your personalized treatment plan.

How should I prepare for my chemical peel?

We recommend that patients make sure to avoid direct sunlight as much as possible in the days and weeks before your chemical peel treatment. It can also be important to avoid using products containing retinol, as they can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the treatment.

How long does the treatment take?

Most chemical peels are completed in about an hour. After your chemical peel, you may experience some redness and tenderness. Some chemical peels have little to no downtime, while others may require up to 7 to 10 days of recovery, once the treatment is over.

When will I see my final results?

Most patients are able to see gradual improvements in the look and feel of their skin over the course of a few weeks after a chemical peel. When we work with you to create your custom treatment plan, we’ll give you a very clear idea of what you can expect after your peel session is over.
