Chemical Peel

A peel is the perfect skin treatment if you’re looking to reduce acne, scarring, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. This treatment uses strong chemicals to restore the skin’s surface and overall complexion. There are different levels of the peel which is an important factor to consider before choosing which level. The different levels of peels include light, medium, and deep. We recommend discussing your options with one of our estheticians before using the medium and deep peel because they are a bit harsher on the skin. During the chemical peel, an exfoliant will be applied to thicker areas of the skin and then we will move to thinner areas of the skin. After the peel, a cool compress will be applied to the skin to relieve the skin from tenderness. A peel works by lifting the dead skin cells off the top layer of the epidermis and then encourages the body to go through a natural healing process of producing more collagen. Post-treatment and days following the will be a bit red. But after that your newly transformed skin will appear with a smooth and bright complexion.

Hydrafacial

The Hydrafacial treatment is one of our most popular especially for those just starting off with their first skin treatment. If your skin is in need of a deep clean and is lacking a natural glow then you might want to consider trying out this treatment. Our estheticians use 3 steps for this treatment and it can be done in 30 minutes. So if you’re thinking you don’t have time to care for your skin that is nonsense because this treatment is quick and can fit into anyone’s schedule. Similar to microdermabrasion because it combines immediate results with surface exfoliation. But the best part is there is no recovery time! It is a sensitive skin type because it is soothing compared to other treatments. This facial is perfect for treating wrinkles, enlarged pores, oily or dry skin, skin textures and brown spots. Now if you’re still not convinced by now we will let you in on some of the medical grade products used during this treatment and how beneficial they are. First is the Hydrafacial Regen of Booster. This product focuses on restoring elasticity and boosting collagen. One of our next products is Nassifmd Hydraglucan Intense Hydration Booster. This special product rejuvenates, repairs and leaves your skin radiating. Next we have Alastin Trihex-Pro Booster and this is specific to supporting the skin to naturally produce new elastin and collagen. If you’re not a beauty expert it’s ok but we are here to tell you that Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid are key proteins in the body that enhance beautiful skin. One product that our estheticians at Wheaton use to reduce redness is Circadia Protec Plus, not only does it do that but it also protects the skin from free radical damage. The list goes on but these are some of top medical-grade products used in the Hydrafacial.

PRP & Microneedling

Microneedling can treat just about any skin concern. At Images Med Spa in Lincoln Park, this has become one of our most popular skin treatments because it improves age spots, wrinkles, scarring, and many types of hyperpigmentation. But when you combine microneedling and PRP this is the MVP team of skin treatments. You might be familiar with this skin treatment through celebrity Kim Kardashian. As soon as she posted her “Vampire Facial” treatment to Instagram this treatment became a fan favorite for everyone. Oftentimes our clients ask if this treatment is painful? The answer is no. It might be a bit uncomfortable for some but your provider can  numb your face if you are worried about any discomfort. The microneedling will last up to 30 mins long which is short and can fit into anyone’s busy schedule. After the microneedling part of the session is done our provider will draw blood which is the key component to enhancing the whole treatment. The blood is then put into a centrifuge and this separates PRP from other parts of the blood. PRP is then massaged into the treated areas of the face. The microneedling essentially works as the wounding part of the treatment since little micro punctures were treated to the skin. The PRP will penetrate the skin and collagen will repair the skin’s surface.

Photofacial

This laser treatment uses all the best technology to correct sun damage and perfect any complexion. The photofacial is ideal for those with an uneven skin tone or redness. The energy comes off the laser light waves aid in repairing skin damage and stimulate collagen. This treatment can take anything from 15-60 minutes. All depends on the skin concerns that you want treated. If your area of concern is smaller you can expect your appointment to be on the shorter side. After your treatment might notice minimal redness but this will fade within a few hours. If you’re looking to treat your skin damage once and for all then we recommend trying out the IPL Photofacial.
